“Riddle” of М. Hrushevsky’s death, that usually functioning in the semantic circle of the traditional Ukrainian historiography as an «external» factor (or as some medical malpractice», or as a «politically motivated murder»), first examined as an «internal» psychical phenomenon – from the perspective of a new psychological discipline – «psychogenealogy». M. Hrushevsky’s death is associated with the so-called «anniversary syndrome» – are the “fixation” on the «constructed» by a historian in the «death narrative» of 1901 Sergiy Hrushevsky “life expectancy”, which turned into an annual «work of sorrow» of his son at the ideal «biographical time»» some «symbolic patriarch», including the symbolic patriarch of the Ukrainian historical writing. At the heart of this “anniversary syndrome” construction was a «system error» in M. Hrushevsky's father birth year, which arose as a result of attempts to psychologically rationalize his father's death – to comprehend its phenomenon through rational denial in the “scientific” theories of the ХІХ-th century. Such “scientific” theories were the concepts of generations, the laws of which M. Hrushevsky subordinated not only the construction of the cycle of births within the limits of his own genealogy, but also – the cycles of deaths. Including his own death. |
