У статті розглядається проблема співробітництва М. Грушевського з Українською партією соціалістів-революціонерів. Головна увага звертається на питання початку співпраці історика з вищезгаданою партією, офіційного оформлення та припинення ним свого членства в ній. Показано стан висвітлення цих питань в історіографічних дослідженнях. Проаналізовано джерельні матеріали, які проливають світло на цю проблему. Зроблено висновок, що протягом тривалого часу історик був одним з лідерів УПСР, не маючи офіційного членства в партії. В статье рассматривается проблема сотрудничества М. Грушевского с Украинской партией социалистов-революционеров. Главное внимание обращается на вопросы начала сотрудничества историка с вышеупомянутой партией, официального оформления и прекращения им своего членства в ней. Показано состояние освещения этих вопросов в историографических исследованиях. Проанализированы источники, которые проливают свет на эту проблему. Сделан вывод, что в течение длительного времени историк был одним из лидеров УПСР, не имея официального членства в партии. The present paper investigates М. Hrushevskyi’s cooperation with the Ukrainian socialists-revolutionary party. Academic sources and historical literature testify to the fact that the historian’s impact on the ideology, program principles and political activity of the USRP was rather substantial. But nowadays there are no advanced studies of the academic problem outlined. It is true both for research papers in the general history and source studies. The paper is focused on the problem of the historian’s early cooperation with the above-mentioned party, his official registration and termination of his membership. The author concludes there is no unity among specialists on the following issues: when M. Hrushevskiy decided to join the USRP, how and when he joined it, if he formalized his membership, when the cooperation ceased. Most of the historians consider that М. Hrushevskyi gradually withdrew from his support of political positions of the Society of Ukrainian progressists and developed cooperation with the USRP, but supporting the ideological platform of the socialists-revolutionaries, sharing their ideas on the methods and forms of revolutionary struggle, he took time before he formalized his membership. The materials analyzes highlight the problem. It is consequently found out, that the historian acted as one of the leaders of the USRP for a long period of time without official membership. The relevant reference base allows to elicit the following periods in М. Hrushevskyi’s cooperation with the USRP: 1) From the moment of the historian’s return to Ukraine in March, 1917 until February, 1920, when already in emigration, he was select the chairman of the Foreign delegation, without being a party man. 2) From February, 1920 until January, 1921. It was in January at the fourth party conference in Prague, when a signevent of M. Hrushevskiy’s official joining the party took place, as afterwards the historian was considered a full-fledged member of the party not only by his supporters but also by the opponents. 3) From January 1921 until November, 1922. The letter to the Central Committee of USRP on November, 24 can be considered an argument testifying to the historian’s resignation from the party and stopping his membership. 4) From November 1922 until July 1923, when the Viennese group of SRs, who considered М. Hrushevskyi their moral authority, finally withdrew from the USRP. In March, 1924, on official allowance from the Soviet government, the historian goes back to Kyiv.
