The article clarifies the possibilities of studying and interpreting the group of «born digital» sources to study the modern reception of M. Hrushevsky. The article has proved that M. Hrushevsky is well-known and important for Ukrainian society and, on the contrary, is not a very popular personality for Internet users from other countries. The internet inquiries about M. Hrushevsky mostly concern the scientific and didactic subjects. So a particular working hypothesis is that the discourse describing M. Hrushevsky is not significantly politicized, as might be expected from his groundbreaking career in the revolutionary years. Instead, the discourse is about education, research on cultural heritage, memory and history. We have concluded that the obtained results will be helpful, first of all, to sociologists, who are focused on elucidating the dynamics of changes in the attitudes of Ukrainians towards the most authoritative figures of the past.
