Інституціональні ювілеї у світлі історії Наукового товариства імені Шевченка / О. Ясь // Український історичний журнал. – Київ, 2023. – № 6 (573). – C. 93–115.
Мета — висвітлити і проаналізувати ювілейні традиції Наукового товариства імені Шевченка в розрізі його інституціональної історії. Методологія дослідження базується на порівняльних і типологічних стратегіях, ужитих для представлення ювілейних практик та заходів, а також суспільно-політичних і культурних ситуацій, в яких розгорталося відзначення певних роковин інституції. Наукова новизна. Розкрито формування світської традиції ювілеїв та її значення в ювілейних змаганнях наприкінці ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст. в імперському культурному просторі. Показано, як відбувалося становлення ювілейних традицій, практик і заходів на перехресті багатоманітних політичних, громадських, культурних, наукових та інших контекстів, обставин, подій відмінних історичних епох і періодів. Розглянуто відзначення ювілеїв НТШ 1898, 1923, 1948/1949, 1973, 1998 рр., а також неформальні рефлексії до 20-річного періоду змагань товариства за здобуття статусу української академії наук. Висвітлено заміну відзначення 25-ліття НТШ на загально-національне святкування 100-річчя українського Відродження 1898 р. Схарактеризовано відзначення 50-річного ювілею інституції, котре відбувалося у кризових післявоєнних відновлення НТШ в еміграції. Висвітлено 100-річний ювілей товариства в діаспорі, який став символом вікового опору української академічної спільноти російському імперському та радянському режимам. Висновки. Обстоюється думка, що інституціональні ювілеї відіграли поважну роль в історії української науки та культури кінця ХІХ–ХХ ст. Підкреслюється, що ювілеї Наукового товариства імені Шевченка відзначалися в межах широких суспільних і культурних кампаній. Показується, що ці заходи мобілізовували українство й водночас актуалізували його провідні політичні запити, культурні та наукові завдання. Наголошується, що ювілейні практики, видання до роковин НТШ стали важливими науковими й культурними каналами для трансляції та поширення національної академічної традиції, особливо в діаспорному й пострадянському середовищах. 150-річчя товариства як найдавнішого академічного осередку опору імперським і неоімперським потугам Москви нині відзначається в найдраматичніший час новітньої історії України.
The purpose is to highlight and analyze the anniversary traditions of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in the context of its institutional history. The research methodology is based on the comparative and typological strategies used to present anniversary practices and events, as well as socio-political and socio-cultural situations in which the certain anniversaries celebration of the Society took place. The scientific novelty. The article describes the formation of the secular tradition of anniversaries and its significance in the anniversary competitions in the late 19th — early 20th centuries in the imperial cultural space. It is shown how anniversary traditions, practices, and events were formed in various political, public, cultural, scientific, and other contexts, circumstances, and events of different historical epochs and periods. The celebration of the anniversaries of the National Academy of Sciences in 1898, 1923, 1948/1949, 1973, and 1998, as well as informal reflections on the 20-year period of the society's competition for the status of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, were considered. The replacement of the 25th anniversary of the Shevchenko Scientific Society celebration with a nationwide celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Ukrainian National Renaissance of 1898 is highlighted. The celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Society, which took place in the post-war crisis amid pressure from the Polish authorities, is characterized. The celebration of the 75th anniversary in the context of the renewal of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in emigration is shown. The 100-year anniversary of the society in the diaspora, which became a symbol of the age-old resistance of the Ukrainian academic community to the Russian imperial and Soviet regimes, is highlighted. Conclusions. It is believed that institutional anniversaries played an important role in the history of Ukrainian science and culture in the late 19th–20th centuries. It is emphasized that the Society’s anniversaries were celebrated within the broad social and cultural campaigns. It is shown that the anniversary mobilized Ukrainians and, at the same time, actualized their leading political demands and cultural and scientific tasks. It is emphasized that the anniversary events, practices, and publications dedicated to the anniversary of the Shevchenko Scientific Society have become important scientific and cultural channels for the transmission and distribution of the national academic tradition, especially in the emigration, diaspora, and post-Soviet environment. The 150th anniversary of the Society as the oldest academic center of resistance to the imperial and neo-imperial powers of Moscow is being celebrated at the most dramatic time in the modern history of Ukraine.
